.....about us

The Derby City Football League, initially known as the Derby Sunday Social League, was formed in 1968 organising men’s 11-a-side football on Sunday afternoons.

The League has expanded massively since its conception and in addition to men’s Sunday afternoon football, now organises all 11-a-side youth football in Derby for youngsters between the ages of 10 and 18, playing on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The Derby City Football League is now one of the largest Amateur football leagues in the UK with 340 teams split into 33 divisions participating in 2004. The majority of the clubs in the League come from Derbyshire, with the counties of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire also represented.

The League is run by a Management Committee of 14 voluntary members who meet every 3 weeks to discuss the business of the League.
